Frequently asked Questions

Visit our site at samafricaonline.com and click the register button. Enter your mobile number and click proceed. It should take you to where you will need to input your name, phone number, email, password and confirm password. When done click proceed.

Alternatively, you can visit the playstore or appstore and download the sampay mobile application. The registration steps are provided on first time log in.

You can either load your account with mobile money or Visa/MasterCard:
1. To load money from your mobile money

  • open the Sampay app, click the load button under the balance.
  • Select mobile money and enter the amount you want to load in your wallet.
  • Enter PIN to the prompt that your will receive from your MNO and your account will be successfully loaded.

To load money from your Visa/MasterCard:
  • Click the load button below the available balance and select VISA/Mastercard
  • Enter the amount you want to load in your Sampay wallet
  • Click proceed.
  • One the home menu, click the send button under the available balance.
  • Select where you want to send your money (Samcash, Mobile Money, eTumba or bank) from the pop-up menu.
  1. To send money to Sampay Account:
    • Click Samcash
    • Enter the amount and sampay number
    • Click send.
  2. To send money to a mobile money account:
    • Click on Mobile Money
    • Select the Mobile Network Operator (MTN, Airtel or Zamtel)
    • Enter mobile number and amount you want to send.
    • Click send.
  3. To send money to a bank account:
    • Click on send to bank.
    • Select the Bank you want to send to.
    • Enter account number and amount.
    • Click send
  • Open the Sampay app and click the cards menu at the bottom navigation.
  • Click the ‘Get New Card’ button.
  • Enter your personal information and submit.
  • Open the Sampay app and click the cards menu on the bottom navigation.
  • Click 'view card' button to access the card details.
  • Scroll down to the card options (Change PIN) and click on change.
  • Enter your current PIN, new PIN and confirm new PIN.
  • Click the submit button to change PIN.
  • Click the cards menu to view your cards.
  • Click the view card button.
  • Scroll down to the card options (Load Card) and click the 'Add' button.
  • Enter the amount you want to load into your MasterCard.
  • Click submit and you’ll will receive a success message.
  • Click the cards menu to view your cards.
  • Click the view card button.
  • Scroll down to the card options (Block Card) and click the 'Block' button.
  • Click the cards menu to view your cards.
  • Click the view card button.
  • Scroll down to the Change default currency section.
  • Select currency default currency and click the change button.
  • A success message from app and email from MasterCard will show up.

Step 1: Open your Sampay personal account
Step 2: Click the Zesco icon
Step 3: Enter your full meter number and amount
Step 4: Get units and recharge your meter.
Step 5. Receive statement for the transaction. 

Click on the Liquid data icon on your Sampay account:
- Choose a bundle of your choice from daily to unlimited bundles
- Enter your account number in full
- Put in the amount for daily/weekly or monthly bundles.
- Press proceed button
- Confirmation of payment and instant credit of bundles. 

• Open the SamEats app.
• Select favourite restaurant.
• Select preferred food.
• Add to cart.
• Confirm food costs and delivery charges.
• Select mode of payment (Sampay)
• Enter your four-digit Pin linked to Sampay account.
• Confirm and proceed.
• SamEats food/drink or medicine will be on its way to you. 

To Cash Out at Zoona or Kazang, you must create a Z-Code

Q. How do I create a Z-code from my Sampay account?
A. Log into Sampay account.
- click on the cash out option
- Select option number 3 (GET Z CODE)
- Enter phone number, reference, amount and press proceed.
- Go to a Zoona/ Kazang agent
- Give them mobile number and Zcode.
- Get cash.

Q. How much is the minimum/ maximum to withdraw using Zoona/Kazang? Does the K20,000 maximum amount by Bank of Zambia applicable?
A. The minimum withdraw is K5 and maximum is K5,000. The bank of Zambia clause in this case does not apply for transacting up to K20,000. Other mediums can be used if transactions of up to this amount are needed. 

Sampay Business Accounts can only be created by persons with existing Sampay Accounts.
Business Accounts must meet all the KYC requirements.

To create a Business Account, you must first login to your Sampay Account and select the Sampay Business option on the listed icons. You can add members (All added members must have Sampay Accounts) including Directors, Accountants etc.

Simple payment options exist within your Sampay Business account. These include payment link generation so that you can add Sampay payment links to SMSs or Emails to your customers.

For other projects that require integration, you will need Sampay Payment APIs. You can request for APIs by sending an email to admin@samafricaonline.com.

You can send money to to Sampay Users or Non-Sampay users using our Send Money or Cash Out options.
In your account, you can choose the "Send Money" option to send money to other Sampay users.

To send money to Bank Accounts, MTN Users or Create a Z-Code with value, use the Cash Out option an select the easiest method from the available options.
You can just enter the phone number or account number that you want the money sent to.

Unfortunately, our USSD service is not yet available. You need a Smartphone to access your Sampay Account.
However, you do not need a Samrtphone to Cash Out from any of the Sampay Agents.
